There\u2019s a section of it that is affectionately known as \u201cthe crookedest\u00a0street in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you drive down it \u2013 along with the hundreds of other tourists that navigate it every day\u00a0of the year \u2013 you\u2019ll find yourself heading north for a few yards before you suddenly\u00a0change directions and end up pointing south.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The software giant<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cSo how do the business pages of USA Today mirror Lombard Street?\u201d you ask. Fair\u00a0question. Here\u2019s how: One morning a headline read, \u201cMicrosoft\u2019s 2nd-Quarter Report\u00a0Card Encouraging.\u201d The next morning I was greeted by this headline, \u201cIs Microsoft\u2019s\u00a0Comeback Over?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s within 24 hours!<\/p>\n<p>If you held stock in Microsoft, you would have gone to bed feeling pretty good about\u00a0your investment one day just to wake up the next morning and start doubting your\u00a0financial wisdom.
