If you watch any regular broadcast or cable television programming \u2013 and with so much\u00a0video streaming today that\u2019s becoming less common \u2013 you can\u2019t avoid the commercials\u00a0touting gold as an investment. Further, if you\u2019re a serious viewer of cable TV reality\u00a0programming you may have one of the gold mining shows on your \u201cto-watch\u201d or \u201cto –\u00a0DVR\u201d list.<\/p>\n

These programs and ads are interesting when considered together. You see, the reason\u00a0gold has had value over the centuries is due to its scarcity. Yet the miners we watch on\u00a0TV shows prove that people are quite successful finding more gold virtually every day,\u00a0so this brings us to the basic truth about investment and value I want to make:<\/p>\n

They\u2019re making more gold, but they aren\u2019t making any more Golden State.<\/em><\/p>\n
