We follow trends in the mortgage market very closely at Evoque Lending and recently\u00a0we came across an interesting article looking at the relationship between “green\u00a0housing” and mortgages.<\/p>\n

It was in the latest issue of National Mortgage Professional magazine \u2013 not the most\u00a0engaging periodical if you aren’t in the business \u2013 and it speculated that perhaps growth\u00a0in “green” or eco-friendly homes would spur more growth in mortgage lending.<\/p>\n

One of the indicators the article pointed to was a growing tendency of home builders\u00a0to become involved in the so-called green projects. They estimate that by 2016 these\u00a0more environmentally conscious homes will be somewhere between 26 to 33 percent of\u00a0the new home market.<\/p>\n
